Val

My hometown | Mixed really, I spent the first 15 years of my life in Trinidad & Tobago and moved to Toronto when I was 15, spent 14 years there, then off to the rugged East coast of Canada in Halifax, Nova Scotia before moving to Grace Bay, Providenciales |
Favorite singer | Bob Marley (the greatest!) |
My hobbie | Jammin’ jazz and reggae with my steel drum on da beach |
Favorite website | Robinsharma.com |
Favorite movie | Born on the 4th of July (a Tom Cruise flick) |
Favorite beach | The ‘Secret Beach’ by Mudjin Harbor in Middle Caicos (but Grace Bay beach is a close second and North Beach in Salt Cay is a close third) |
Favorite restaurant | This changes constantly, but currently it’s Infinity at Grace Bay Club |
What you should ask me when you get me on the phone | Why I decided to shave my head when I moved to Turks & Caicos |
My perfect day in Turks & Caicos | Breakfast on the beach at Hemingway’s; island hop from Iguana Cay to Fort George Cay. Shelling for sand dollars. Fresh lobster and conch BBQ on Half Moon Bay. Sunset Sail on Atebeyra and then watch the glow worms after the full moon…. but here’s a close second – Spend the morning strolling Mudjin Harbor in Middle Caicos, wonder and wade over to Dragon Cay, and take a hike on Crossing Place Trail all the way to the Blowing Hole and back (taking a dip on all the undiscovered beaches along the way) |
Favorite island(s) beyond Providenciales | Middle Caicos and Salt Cay |
Funniest tourist question or request | Can I take a train to North Caicos? |
Best kept secret on Provo | Three Queen’s Bar in Blue Hills (for a real local experience) |
